Sarah & Chris | A Cozy Edmonton Backyard Wedding

Sarah & Chris, like so many couples this past year and a half, planned their wedding during a pandemic - and did such an amazing job creating the day they both envisioned! When restrictions tightened once again, they cancelled their venue and opted for an intimate backyard wedding instead. It turned out to be such a warm, cozy, beautiful day to celebrate their commitment to one another, and I had such a great time capturing these moments!

The day begin with Sarah getting ready at her close friend (and also their MC's) charming home in Edmonton. The morning was relaxed, comfortable, and fun with Sarah surrounded by her closest girlfriends and mother.

Meanwhile, Chris was getting ready at their home just a quick a drive away. Sarah & Chris's cat, Rupert, made an adorable appearance too!

Sarah & Chris decorated their yard themselves, it looked AMAZING, especially with their ceremony set up centred underneath their lilac tree. They had a small gathering of friends and immediate family for their ceremony, with a funny appearance by their next door neighbours too!

We ventured to a park post-ceremony to capture some formals amongst the sunshine and greenery.

I will ALWAYS advocate to my clients to try to allow extra time for their formals so that they can have some time together, away from the schedule, to really soak in the day and enjoy the moment. Wedding days go by so so quickly, I love when couples can take a break, celebrate together, and soak it allllllll in.

After the formals, we headed back to Sarah & Chris's home to capture their entrance into their backyard reception.

Congratulations to the happy couple! :)
